The whole Truth

This is a BROWN TROUT (Salmo Trutta):

That's what they look like. It's a bit of an inside joke. If you're feeling left out but want to enjoy trout anyhow, take a peek at that FLY! It's a winner!

So fishing yesterday was hard but FUN. My pal Brad and I hit the Gunpowder Falls, again, and tossed giant lead-eyed streamers in hopes of hooking into some big fish during the high water. I only managed to land 1 but we had a BLAST ripping flies through the big pools and having fish blast out of the water attempting to destroy our flies.

Big long casts and frantic stripping resulted in dozens of big fish coming out from their hiding places - some swimming 10 feet or more to beat up the flies....only to get stung and not hooked.

Isn't that a nice cast above? They can't all be winners:

Hey, I hear the striper bite is on. Lets pack up the boot-foots and stripping baskets and hit the road! Spread love and wear your helmet...those heavy flies HURT when you whack yourself in the back of the head! Micah

I just caught a brown here in Montana. 19 inches and 2 pounds. He was a delicious dinner!
